Webcam FPS Test
Find out how many frames per second your webcam delivers. Check its resolution and camera information, then try different settings to compare.
Video stays in your browser. No recording is stored or uploaded, and this test does not access your microphone.
These are preferences. Your browser may choose different settings. Additional cameras appear after you grant camera access. Once you start, changing any setting automatically starts a new test.
Ready when you are. Select Start webcam test, then allow camera access.

This measures frames delivered to the browser preview. Your display refresh rate and browser can limit the result, especially with high-FPS cameras.

The camera name may include its manufacturer and model. Browsers do not provide a separate, reliable vendor field. Configured FPS is a setting, not a measurement. Reported ranges do not guarantee that the highest FPS and resolution work together.
Understanding your webcam FPS test
How to get a useful result
Keep this tab visible for the whole test. Use your usual lighting and close other apps that are using the camera. Try a lower resolution or better lighting, then run the test again to compare.
Changing tabs stops the test so background throttling does not distort the result. You can stop camera access at any time with Stop camera.
Why is my webcam FPS lower than advertised?
A camera advertised as 60 fps may only reach that rate at certain resolutions or in good light. Longer exposure in a dark room, USB bandwidth, other applications, and browser or display limits can reduce the measured preview rate.
For a quick low-light check, briefly shine a light into the camera, such as your phone’s flashlight, while the test is running. If the frame rate increases, try improving the lighting around your face during normal use.
What if the camera will not start?
Allow camera access in your browser’s site settings and your operating system’s privacy settings. Check the webcam’s privacy shutter, reconnect an external camera, and close video calls or other camera apps before trying again.
Why does frame rate matter for blink detection?
More frames give blink detection more opportunities to capture your eyes opening and closing. A steady frame rate and a clear, well-lit view of your face help BlinkEasy follow your blinks.
